We Are Open!!!

For the record, we are open for business as usual.  We have had several puzzling inquiries about whether we are open and one of our staff actually met someone who informed her that she assumed we were NOT open because we had no heat, but we DO have heat!

We were forced to close for a few hours plus one full day on October because our old boiler had not been repaired or replaced in time for cold weather, but a temporary solution was found and we have been open as usual ever since.  A temporary boiler was recently set up and the permanent boiler will be installed in January.  In the meantime, we DO have heat and expect to open for our normal hours throughout the installation process, so feel free to stop down!

New Tote Bags...Just in Time for Holiday Giving!

We just received a shipment of our brand new library tote bags!  These nonwoven polypropylene totes are 16" wide, 13" high, and 5" deep and come in black, red, and blue.  They are great for toting books, groceries, or a very large lunch.  What a great last- minute stocking stuffer or even a gift bag!  Stop in and pick one (or several) up for just $3.00 each.

GRAPHIC NOVEL SURVEY

Are you a fan of graphic novels?  We are in the process of evaluating our graphic novel collections and we'd love to have your input.  We'd love to get an idea of what types of graphic novels you prefer!  One of our staff has put together a very brief survey about graphic novels.  You can access the survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/J7MGXTL or simply go to our homepage at www.windsorlockslibrary.org and click on this logo (it works here, too!).

Holiday baking time

Have you started your holiday baking yet?  Did you realize that you don’t have quite the right pan for what goodies you want to bake?  Here’s your solution: go to the Windsor Locks Public Library and check out a baking pan!  We have many holiday cookie cutters, bundt pans, muffin pans, silicone bakeware, and many others!!  Pans can be circulated for one week at a time with one renewal.  They must be hand-washed and they must be returned to the circulation desk here at our library.  How easy is that?  Just visit us at 28 Main St, Windsor Locks CT to look at our "catalog" of baking pans, then get out your bowls and spatulas, preheat that oven, and get into that holiday baking spirit!!  Feel free to contact the library with any questions at (860) 627-1495.
