A Pocket Full of Positivity

We are still looking for people who want to discuss how to make the world a better, kinder place!  Our new Pocket Full of Positivity Book Club is a great way to get started!  The first meeting is on Tuesday, October 8 at 3:00 p.m. and our selection is Activate Your Goodness: Transforming the World Through Doing Good by Shari Arison.

The book is just 144 pages long, but it is packed full of good ideas for spreading goodness and being kind.  We believe that a discussion of kindness is just what we need to offset the turmoil and culture of division that we are currently experiencing in America.

This book club does not involve politics or criticism of any group of people.  It is simply an effort to make the world a happier place by learning to spread good works and kindness to our neighbors, friends, and complete strangers.  Please join us in our crusade to spread the power of positivity throughout our community!  Sign up today!

Murder Mystery!!

If you enjoy cozy mysteries, mark your calendar for Wednesday, September 18 at 6:30 p.m.  The Windsor Locks Public Library will present its fourth interactive murder mystery film, Maybe She Had It Coming, starring the Out-of-Print Players, a group of good-natured (and sometimes even talented!) staff, volunteers, and library users.  Maybe She Had It Coming is set in the fictional Onion River Public Library in rural Vermont, an area steeped in Revolutionary War history. Opal Longfellow, the victim, is a retired academic library director who has returned to her hometown of Onion River after years in the midwest.  Her volunteer work at the Onion River Library has resulted in resentment and fear among the library's staff as she freely shares her many criticisms and attempts to influence library decision-makers.  Who hated and feared Opal enough to murder her?  Is someone trying to frame Reference Librarian Gordon Elliott or did he cleverly engineer her murder to make himself look like a victim?  We need your help in solving this murder!   Come prepared to watch the videos, evaluate the clues, and come to your own conclusions about who committed this heinous and cowardly crime.  The program will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18 at Windsor Locks Public Library, 28 Main Street.  Please register at www.windsorlockslibrary.org or call 860-627-1495 to reserve your seat.  And don't forget your deerstalker and magnifying glass!  There will be refreshments and a prize drawn from all of those who correctly identify the murderer.
