M.C. Beaton

M.C. Beaton, the author of the popular Agatha Raisin and Hamish Macbeth mystery series, passed away on December 30 at the age of 83.  Beaton has the most borrowed UK adult author in British public libraries since 2011.  Beaton also wrote Regency romances and Edwardian mysteries under the name Marion Chesney and romance novels as Ann Fairfax, Jennie Tremaine, Sarah Chester, Helen Crampton, and Charlotte Ward.
