Vintage Books & Dessert

Did you know that we run a daytime book club?  The Vintage Book Club meets on the third Tuesday of each month starting at 1:15.  If your time is limited, don't worry!  You are welcome to bring a brown-bag lunch to eat during the discussion and we'll provide a beverage and a fresh-baked dessert.

"Vintage" books are not necessarily historical.  They are notable novels and nonfiction written years ago that still resonate with today's readers.  Some are acclaimed prize winners while others are valued for their timeless insight and observations.  All of them provide a fascinating glimpse into the culture and customs of earlier times.  The program includes a presentation of biographical information on the author, relevant details about the book and its significance, and a discussion.  Why not stop in and try out the Vintage Book Club?  February's selection is Bess Streeter Alrich's A Lantern In Her Hand and in March the group will be discussing Riders of the Purple Sage by Zane Grey.
